I just admire the huge difference between the first two seasons and the last three seasons. They look like two different shows, it was all about prue and andy, and the demons were simple yet hard to defeat, their powers were grandious above others, the book was toucheable by evil. Then the series was a soap opera, phoebe and loves, piper's kids, prue, andy and dan were like unknown people.

Some major goop points you posted, but not to forget some great stuff too: - excessive magic and fantasy, magic school (that was weird, and un-necessary); - vanquishing the source, dunno, that was just uh, not good, the source was something "untalked" about in the prue seasons...he seemed so easy to vanquish - people with more powerful powers - leo going crazy, he was a good and simple character to go crazy - death of cole made season 4 seem wasted
but basically, it was all prue and andy, piper with loves and jobs, and phoebe the screw up in the beggining, then ended up with mature phoebe and her loves, piper and kids and paige with, uh, with not much to talk about, oh yeah, with all the excessive magical fantasies.

I think that fairies and etc started in season 3. but it got exagerated in season 5. magic school was a really bad idea, how harry potterish there were many ultimate powers, the book, the nexus, the hallow, the avatars, the elders (at some level they were), even the source was somehow known as the ultimatest power. yet the power of three was considered the most most, yet It didn't look like it. they got toooooo much into their personal life, and that sucked, and brad thought it was good, and he kept pushing, he seemed blocked cos everyone was complaining

Yeah, that's a really weird fact. Everyone complained about the personal life thing, and the rates clearly showed that everyone hated the personal life, since they decreased exactly the time when they got exagerated. I don't understand how did Brad Kern even say "we're trying to go in their personal life even more" it's just weird. It's like he was somehow blind to what fans really wanted

Well there are many differences between what happened in the past too... They seemed to forget about all of it.... Then they will make a new episode and it is like the other never even happened...
But I still love it even with all the Changes.

I felt more obligated to watch them as I was a fan of the first three seasons. But I totally agree on you that they sometimes made new episodes forgetting everything from the past. In the beginning Andy and Prue were EVERYTHING.
Suddenly, after season 3, Andy's name was never mentioned again, like he never existed. Except for the flash backs, back at that episode where Phoebe lost her powers (season 6) and when Phoebe had the premonition in Utopia (season 7).

Yeah, add one or two...But you see, Andy grew up with them, and not once they didn't mention his name outside the context of police/deaths...

Prue did in Premious Empath When she ran across Phoebe, she said "Wow, I don't recall feeling like that since Andy was alive."
